Former ​Czech hockey star ‌Jaromír Šlégr is actively working to find a solution for the struggling HC Litvínov, but clarified he has no desire to return as the team’s coach. Šlégr ⁢stated⁢ a deadline of the⁢ end of November was set‍ for potential interventions, emphasizing the urgency of ‍the situation.

The future of HC ⁢Litvínov is in jeopardy⁢ as the team currently faces significant challenges reflected in their position in the league standings. Šlégr, a Litvínov native and former player, feels a deep personal connection to the club and its​ fanbase, and is dedicated to preventing further decline. He acknowledged the distress within the community, ⁣stating, “It hurts me terribly.I can see ⁢that people are unhappy about it. We are a⁢ small town with a huge tradition.”

Despite his commitment, Šlégr explicitly ruled⁣ out taking⁣ on the coaching role‌ himself. He is focused on facilitating ⁤a ‌resolution, and is involved in ongoing discussions. “I am an eternal optimist and a Litvínov at heart. I will fight until the last moment and I will not give up,” ‌Šlégr said. He added he is hesitant to publicly disclose details prematurely, fearing it could jeopardize ongoing efforts.

Šlégr also commented on the​ team’s recent‌ performance, ​noting improvements​ in ‌their last three games, including a competitive showing against‌ Sparta Prague,‌ which he attended in person. ⁢He⁣ urged the ⁣players to remain united‍ and persevere, stating, “They have to stick⁢ together, fight and not give up.”‍ He also suggested Hynek could benefit from a role on the⁣ substitute team.
