CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Six Atlantic Coast Conference quarterbacks have been recognized among the nation’s elite,earning a place on the Top 25 Watch List for the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award,announced this week by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation,Inc. The distinction highlights not only on-field performance but also academic commitment and character, qualities central to the award’s legacy.
The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, now in its 39th year, honors the top senior or upperclassman quarterback who exemplifies excellence in football, academics, and community leadership. Presented in partnership with A.O. Smith Corporation, the award seeks to recognize players who embody the complete student-athlete experience, mirroring the values of the award’s namesake-a football icon renowned for his toughness, humility, and dedication. The Top 25 selections were chosen from an initial pool of 58 candidates.
The ACC quarterbacks included on the prestigious list are Carson beck (Miami), Tommy Castellanos (Florida State), Haynes King (Georgia Tech), darian Mensah (Duke), Chandler Morris (Virginia), and Miller Moss (Louisville). These players will continue to be evaluated throughout the season, with the field narrowing as the award selection process progresses. The ultimate winner will be announced in December.
