Title: Shorter College Basketball: 2024-2025 Season Details

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Shorter College’s Bulldog and Lady Bulldog basketball teams tip off their 2024-2025 season as contenders in Region 2 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), marking the third year of the program’s revival. The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will compete against 20 other schools across Arkansas and Oklahoma within the region.

Shorter College, the nation’s only private, historically black junior college, boasts a rich legacy dating back to its founding in 1886 as Bethel University by the Twelfth Episcopal District of the african Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) church. Today,the college offers six degree programs – Child Progress,Christian Leadership,Computer Science,Criminal Justice,Entrepreneurial Studies,and General Studies – and is poised for an exciting basketball season under the leadership of Head Coaches Jenone Bell (Lady Bulldogs) and Andre Williams (Bulldog Men).Bell leads a lady Bulldogs team coming off a conference Runner-up finish last season, while Williams aims to guide a reloaded men’s team to a championship run.
