Manchester United Receive Encouraging Signal From Bournemouth‘s Antoine Semenyo Amid £65m Release Clause
Manchester United have received a positive indication from Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo regarding his tactical flexibility, as the club considers a potential January move for the player. Semenyo, who is valued at £65 million due to a release clause activating in the early stages of the January transfer window, has stated his comfort playing across multiple forward positions.
“I feel like I’m agreeable playing in any role across the forward positions,” Semenyo said. “This comes with the ability to use both feet, I think. I’m comfortable playing whether on the left, right or in the middle. Though, in my head the end goal is to be a No.9. Maybe in the years to come when I’ve built the experience I’ll eventually transition into that, but I’m not too hung up on that.”
This versatility is especially appealing to United as they evaluate players who can fit into manager Erik ten Hag’s system. The release clause is reportedly set to expire shortly after the window opens to allow Bournemouth time to find a replacement.
The potential pursuit of Semenyo could be contingent on the departure of current United forward Brian Brobbey, with reports suggesting a January transfer request is likely if his playing time does not increase. Should Brobbey leave, United are expected to prioritize maximizing the transfer fee received and using those funds to secure Semenyo’s signature.
