Country Singer Bryan Martin Apologizes After On-Stage Incident at Schaghticoke Fair
Schaghticoke, NY – Country musician Bryan Martin publicly apologized to fans Saturday after being escorted off stage at the Schaghticoke Fair Friday evening due to erratic behaviour and concerns about potential intoxication. The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies intervened after Martin became aggressive, requiring them to forcibly remove him from the performance area.
According to authorities, Martin later acknowledged a long-standing struggle wiht alcoholism. Sheriff Kyle Bourgault released a statement emphasizing the complexities of addiction. “Addiction is a disease, and it requires both accountability and empathy,” Bourgault stated. “My hope is that Mr. Martin receives the resources and support he needs to overcome this struggle and continue to share his gift of music with fans in a healthier way.”
Martin himself addressed the incident via social media, expressing remorse and revealing a deeper personal battle. “Sorry I let yall down tonight… truth is I’m not ok,” he wrote. “Been hitting it hard for a while and haven’t took time to be honest with myself about my mental health and it’s nothing new to struggle with my anxiety and depression.” he indicated he intends to seek further help.
The incident occurred during Martin’s performance on Friday night, prompting a swift response from fair security and the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office.While details surrounding the initial confrontation remain limited, authorities confirmed no injuries were reported.
