Mid-Missouri Roadway Safety Grants Available: Applications Due October 15th

JEFFERSON ⁣CITY,‍ MO – Mid-Missouri agencies, businesses, and organizations can now apply for⁢ grant funding aimed at bolstering roadway safety ⁤initiatives. The Central​ Coalition for Roadway Safety is accepting applications for its community​ grants through October​ 15th.

The grants ‍are ​designed ⁣to provide resources for a wide range of projects focused on improving ‌safety for all Missouri drivers.

“Thes funds ⁣are dedicated to making Missouri roadways safer – whether that is equipping law enforcement or supporting ‍groups promoting safe driving habits,” explained trent Brooks, a representative for the Central ‍Coalition for Roadway⁣ Safety. “If you have a need we can help ⁢with, we encourage you ⁤to apply.”

Grant Focus Areas

Funding will prioritize projects addressing key areas outlined in the state’s Show-Me Zero ‌ strategic highway safety ​plan. These⁣ include:

* occupant Protection: Initiatives promoting⁣ seatbelt ⁣use and​ child safety ‌seats.
* Distracted Driving: Programs aimed ⁢at reducing accidents caused by driver inattention.
*⁤ Speed and Aggressive⁢ Driving: Efforts⁣ to curb speeding ⁣and reckless⁢ driving behaviors.
* ⁢ Impaired Driving: Projects focused on preventing driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Who ‌is Eligible?

A diverse range of organizations​ are eligible‌ to apply, including law enforcement agencies, health ⁤departments, community groups, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations.

Funding Details

While funding ⁤is limited, grants can ⁣award up to $5,000. Specific project⁤ types​ have additional funding limitations. For example:

* Project⁢ Graduation/Option Prom Events: Up to $200 in grant funds plus $100 in giveaway incentives.
* school Docudramas (distracted/Impaired Driving, Unbelted Riding): Up to $700.
