Red Bull Installs WorldS Tallest Skateboard Ramp on Brazilian Skyscraper
Porto Alegre, Brazil – Red Bull has constructed a massive skateboard ramp descending from the side of the Administrative Center Fernando Ferrari (CAFF) building in Porto Alegre, Brazil, setting the stage for a record-setting stunt. The ramp, built on the 1987-completed structure in the Praia de Belas neighborhood, has quickly garnered attention online, fulfilling a long-held local joke about the building’s potential as a skate location.
The project aims to push the boundaries of skateboarding, though it remains to be seen how the ramp will be categorized within Guinness World Records. Currently, the largest permanent skateboard ramp is located at professional skateboarder Bob Burnquist’s farm home in San Diego, California, measuring 360 feet long and 75 feet high, with a 180-foot launch section, 70-foot gap, 27-foot slope section, and a 30-foot quarterpipe. Red Bull’s installation is undeniably larger in vertical drop.Brazilian skateboarder Léo Saballa Jr. has already acknowledged the project, crediting professional skateboarder Sandro Dias for inspiring his courage to tackle the wall. The CAFF building itself serves as a vital hub for Porto Alegre’s governance, housing various state departments and public governance bodies since construction began in 1976.
Details regarding the stunt and the skateboarder attempting the record are forthcoming.
