Jakarta, Indonesia – The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) will convene a press conference tomorrow, November 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB) in Jakarta, potentially revealing the shortlist of candidates to become the next head coach of the Indonesian National Team.
Following the departure of Dutch coach Patrick Kluivert last month,PSSI officials have been evaluating potential replacements. PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir announced earlier this month that the association had received five applications for the position. The upcoming press conference is anticipated to unveil these candidates, marking a pivotal moment in the search for leadership to guide the national team forward.
According to Thohir, speaking on the youtube channel Bukan Tin Cans on November 5, 2025, “There are already five names (potential coaches for the Indonesian National Team), but we have to discuss them again. Of these five names we have to discuss them again with many parties, including those at PSSI and the government.”
Several names have surfaced as potential contenders, including Timur Kapadze of Uzbekistan, Jesus Casas of Spain, and Bojan Hodak of Croatia. sumardji, Chairman of the National Team Agency (BTN), has reportedly recommended Timur Kapadze to PSSI Technical Director Alexander Zwiers, though formal discussions are still underway. Sumardji stated mid-week that Kapadze’s name was among those he presented to the Director of Technology.
