philadelphia Expands Holiday Offerings with Wanamaker Light Show Market adn Made in Philly Celebration
Philadelphia is bolstering its holiday traditions this year with expanded festive experiences,including a new market complementing teh iconic Wanamaker Light Show and the return of the popular Made in Philadelphia Holiday market. These events aim too provide unique shopping opportunities and family-friendly entertainment throughout the holiday season.
A new market will open inside the Macy’s Center City building, offering a heated space for shoppers to discover unique gifts and art beyond the scheduled showings of the Wanamaker Light show. The light show itself will run every half-hour beginning at 12:30 p.m., and the building’s third-floor Dickens Village will also be open to visitors. Market hours are Wednesday through Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m.
Across the street and within City Hall’s courtyard, the 11th annual Made in Philadelphia Market will feature local vendors, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, a train ride presented by SEPTA, and the official Philadelphia Christmas tree. “The Made in philadelphia Holiday Market continues to highlight the best of our city’s creative spirit,” saeid Bauer. “We are proud to provide a space were local artisans can showcase their work and where Philadelphians can find truly unique holiday treasures right in the heart of Center City.”
Both events offer extended schedules for holiday enjoyment. The Made in Philadelphia Market will run through January 1.
