Pernilla Wahlgren and Christian Bauer seek Couples Therapy to Strengthen Marriage
Swedish singer and television personality Pernilla Wahlgren and her husband, Christian Bauer, recently turned to couples therapy to address dialog issues within their marriage. Wahlgren, who previously expressed reservations about therapy, revealed the decision stemmed from a fear of allowing negativity to overshadow the positive aspects of their relationship.
the couple’s proactive step comes after recognizing a pattern of frustration and dissatisfaction, prompting them to seek professional guidance to prevent further strain. Wahlgren stated, “I have been against couples therapy, but now I feel that I am terrified of ending up where you are so plagued by your partner that you do not see the positive aspects. And that it will be like that for both of us. If we just go around and bother each other, and be annoyed or dissatisfied wiht our relationship, then it ends.”
Wahlgren and Bauer reaffirmed their commitment with a second wedding celebration in Marbella in the fall of 2024, following an initial ceremony in Sweden in December 2023. This marriage marks Wahlgren’s second, having previously been married to Emilio Ingrosso from 1993 to 2002, with whom she shares three children: Oliver (35), Bianca (30), and Benjamin Ingrosso (27). She also has an 18-year-old son, Theodor, with Joachim Lennholm (52).
The decision to seek therapy highlights a growing trend among couples prioritizing open communication and preventative measures to maintain healthy relationships. While the specifics of their sessions remain private, Wahlgren’s openness about her initial reluctance and subsequent change of heart may encourage others to consider therapy as a valuable tool for strengthening marital bonds.
