University Park Campus Update: Delayed start - December 2nd
Due to current weather conditions, Penn State University Park is operating on a delayed schedule for Tuesday, december 2nd. This proclamation details impacts to classes,activities,and employee work expectations.
Academic Instruction:
All classes scheduled for University Park will continue as planned, with no cancellations.
Campus Activities:
Any previously scheduled, in-person activities occurring between 5 a.m. and 12 p.m. (noon) on December 2nd are canceled. Activities scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. or later will proceed as originally planned.
Employee Reporting Requirements:
* Essential Employees: Individuals previously designated as performing essential services and required to report to campus should do so as directed by their supervisors. These employees are eligible for Campus Closure Compensatory Time, adhering to established university guidelines. Employees should confirm their essential/non-essential status with their supervisor before inclement weather arrives.
* All Other Employees: Employees not designated as essential should not report to work until normal campus operations resume. They are eligible for Campus Closure Pay, as outlined in University policy. Detailed data regarding weather-related absence procedures can be found in Human Resources Guideline 10 (https://policy.psu.edu/policies/hrg10). The ARL will continue to follow its own internal policies regarding weather-related closures.
Specific Employee Scenarios:
* Employees scheduled to work both before and after noon on December 2nd should report to campus at 12 p.m. to complete a partial day, and are eligible for Campus Closure Pay for the portion of their shift prior to noon.
* Employees with work hours entirely within the 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. timeframe on December 2nd should not report to work and are eligible for Campus Closure Pay.
* Employees scheduled to begin work at or after 12 p.m. on December 2nd should report as regularly scheduled.
