Östersund’s Anderberg Stuns Karlskoga with Last-Second Overtime Winner
KARLSKOGA, SWEDEN – alexander Anderberg scored twice, including teh game-winning goal with just three seconds remaining in overtime, as Östersunds IK defeated BIK Karlskoga 3-2 on Monday evening in HockeyAllsvenskan action. The dramatic comeback secured two points for Östersund after trailing 2-0.
Karlskoga’s Jonatan Harju opened the scoring with a power-play goal late in the first period, adding his second of the night just eleven seconds into the third to extend the lead to 2-0. Östersund responded with goals from Linus Videll at 15:56 of the third and Anderberg at 19:08, tying the game at 2-2 and forcing overtime. Anderberg’s initial goal was reviewed for potential goalie interference but was ultimately allowed.
A power-play opportunity in overtime proved decisive, with Anderberg netting the winner with only three seconds left on the clock. The goals marked Anderberg’s first tallies in 17 games.
“God, how nice it was. It feels like I got ten kilos lighter,” Anderberg told TV4 after the game. He added, ”what the hell. They shouted here in the Karlskoga stands that I should learn to play hockey, so it was extra nice.”
BIK Karlskoga coach Dennis Hall expressed frustration with the team’s performance, stating, “It feels a bit random. They make it 2-1 on a game reversal where the puck bounces straight out. We should have used our game advantage and pulled away even more earlier.”
