Nissan to Launch Brazil-Built ‘Kait’ SUV in Mexico in 2026
Nissan is preparing to introduce a new subcompact SUV, the ”Kait,” to the Mexican market in 2026, manufactured in Brazil and positioned to succeed the current Kicks model. The vehicle, powered by an engine similar to that found in the Nissan Versa, will enter a highly competitive segment, challenging established players like the Hyundai creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Chevrolet Groove.
The kait represents a meaningful strategic move for Nissan in Mexico, aiming to defend its market share in the popular subcompact SUV category. The new model inherits the legacy of the original Kicks, which enjoyed considerable success, and will be crucial in attracting buyers seeking an affordable and versatile vehicle. Nissan anticipates pricing for the Kait will range between 400,000 and 500,000 pesos, with a launch expected during the spring of 2026.
