Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Launches on Switch 2 Without Traditional Preorder Bonuses
Nintendo is preparing to release Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on the forthcoming Switch 2 console, but players shouldn’t expect standard preorder incentives. The third installment in the Hyrule Warriors series focuses on the Imprisoning War detailed in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, offering a new chapter in Hyrule’s history.
Currently, no official preorder bonuses have been announced for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. However, Nintendo is leveraging existing game ownership and collectible amiibo figures to enhance the experience. Players will unlock extra in-game items by utilizing amiibo from The Legend of Zelda series. Moreover, save data from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will grant access to unique weapons – specifically, the High Guard’s Claymore from the former and the High Guard’s Sword from the latter.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment casts players as Princess Zelda, who travels back in time alongside King Rauru and Queen Sonia to combat new enemies. The game introduces Zonai Devices for use in battle and a “Sync Strike” mechanic, enabling cooperative attacks with allies.
Local two-player split-screen co-op is supported, and Nintendo’s GameShare feature allows players to experience the game together even without individual copies.
For those looking to expand their game collection, other titles currently available for preorder include Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
