Herbert Leads Chargers to Convincing Victory Over Steelers,Rodgers Faces Further Scrutiny
INGLEWOOD,Calif. - Justin Herbert delivered a commanding performance, throwing for 200+ yards adn two touchdowns as the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 25-10 on Sunday. the win marks the Chargers’ third consecutive victory, while the steelers continue to struggle offensively under quarterback Aaron Rodgers, raising questions about their playoff prospects.
The Chargers’ dominant showing was built on a balanced attack and a stifling defense that forced key turnovers. Herbert completed 20 of 33 passes, connecting with Quentin Johnston for a 15-yard touchdown and Kimani Vidal for a two-yard score, extending the Chargers’ lead to 22-3. The victory solidifies the Chargers’ position in a competitive AFC playoff race and underscores Herbert’s growing stature as one of the league’s premier quarterbacks. For the Steelers, the loss intensifies the pressure on Rodgers to find a rythm and on the team to address its offensive shortcomings.
Herbert also ran for 19 yards on five carries. He attributed the success to the defense, stating, “The defense played incredibly well. To be able to get some turnovers like that, a bunch of huge stops and the special teams getting a turnover, too. they made our jobs so much easier.”
Cameron Dicker contributed three field goals - from 32, 59, and 42 yards – with his 59-yarder tying a franchise record. keenan Allen also reached a milestone, surpassing Antonio Gates for the most receptions in Chargers history with 956.
Looking Ahead: The Los Angeles Chargers will travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars on Sunday, November 16th (6pm UK and Ireland). Simultaneously, the Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Cincinnati Bengals.
