Mumford & Sons and Hozier have joined forces on a new single, “Rubber Band Man,” released today. The collaboration blends Mumford & Sons’ signature folk instrumentation with Hozier’s soulful vocals, marking a notable musical pairing between the acclaimed artists.
The release follows a history of onstage collaborations between Hozier and Mumford & Sons, including a 2017 performance of The Beatles’ “A Little Help From My Friends” at the Longitude Festival and a 2023 rendition of “Awake My Soul” at Austin City Limits. Mumford & Sons recently released their album Rushmere in March, recorded with producer Dave Cobb across multiple locations including Nashville, Savannah, and Devon, England. The album represents a new chapter for the band as a trio, following Winston Marshall’s departure in 2021 due to political differences with his bandmates.
Earlier this week, Mumford & Sons showcased their collaborative spirit in Nashville, welcoming Lainey Wilson and Sierra Ferrell onstage for special performances. Ferrell contributed a cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You,” while Wilson joined for her song “Things a Man Oughta Know” and a duet of Mumford & Sons’ “Awake My Soul.”
