Moon Township Garden to Bloom with Volunteer Effort
A call for green thumbs has gone out in Moon Township as the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC) prepares for a garden planting event at the intersection of Route 51 adn Thorn Run Road. Residents are invited to join a regional effort to enhance local landscapes through the planting of native perennial plants.
More than 7,000 Western Pennsylvanians contribute annually to WPC’s beautification projects, transforming spaces across the region. This planting event offers a direct chance to participate in that impact, improving the natural environment and strengthening community bonds. the project welcomes volunteers of all ages and experience levels - from novice planters to seasoned gardeners – fostering a collaborative spirit in service of a shared goal.
The planting will take place at Rt. 51 & Thorn Run Rd., Moon, PA 15108. Volunteers can register online or contact Shawn terrell, WPC’s community engagement coordinator, at sterrell@paconserve.org or 412-586-2327 to secure their spot. Individuals, families, community groups, and corporate teams are all encouraged to participate in this ongoing initiative to beautify Western Pennsylvania.
