Money’s Monster Night Propels Montana to 102-93 Upset of UNLV
MISSOULA, Mont. – A dominant offensive performance, fueled by 22 points from standout player known as “Money,” lifted the Montana Grizzlies to a 102-93 victory over the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels on November 12, 2025. The win marks the sixth against a Mountain West conference opponent for Head Coach Travis DeCuire and the third in the last four games against the conference.
The Grizzlies’ victory came against a UNLV team riding high off a 32-point win over Chattanooga,a program just outside the top 100 in KenPom rankings. Montana, however, quickly seized control, delivering their best offensive showing in six years through a versatile attack and relentless pressure.
Brooklyn Hicks, a former UNLV player, contributed eight points and five rebounds in 18 minutes against his former team. Chase Henderson added a crucial three-point play late in the game to extend Montana’s lead. DeCuire emphasized the depth of the team’s performance, noting the impact of players coming off the bench.
“It’s good to have 7 or 8 guys ready to go. even the guys that subbed in for short spurts were ready to go,” DeCuire said. he specifically highlighted Amari Jedkins’ 10 minutes, during wich he scored a three-pointer and grabbed three rebounds while navigating foul trouble.
Montana’s success stemmed from their defensive adaptability, switching between full-court presses, man-to-man, and zone defenses. Despite UNLV’s varied looks, the Grizzlies consistently found offensive opportunities.
“I think attention to detail was a weakness and a major concern of mine coming out of the Stanford game,” DeCuire explained. “Tonight it was a huge challenge because these guys change defenses so much… I didn’t know that we were prepared for that mentally yet, but the guys were flowing pretty well after our film session.”
The Grizzlies will next host Cal Poly on friday, with a pre-game banner raising ceremony celebrating their 2025 championship. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
