Jefferson City Public Defender Office Seeks Administrative Assistant
The Missouri State Public Defender’s office in Jefferson City is accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant. The position supports the local office by managing front desk operations, including answering phones, greeting clients, and maintaining the trial calendar.
Responsibilities include opening and closing case files, coordinating office support services – such as budget tracking, invoice processing, and vendor dialogue – and managing office inventory and supply orders. The role also provides clerical support to the District Defender and other staff attorneys, with potential for additional assigned duties.
Candidates should possess one year of professional office management experience, demonstrated through staff supervision or responsible administrative work, or five years of progressively responsible clerical/office experience. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience requirements.
