Actor Mike McShane, known for his improvisational skills and roles in British television and theater, continues to perform with the comedy group Paul Merton’s Impro Chums after joining them in 2008. McShane’s career spans decades, encompassing stage work, radio appearances, and television roles, demonstrating a consistent presence in the UK comedy scene.
mcshane initially gained recognition for his performance in the play The 39 Steps, originating at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark between December 2006 and February 2007. The production’s success led to a transfer to the West End’s Duke of York theatre, where he continued in his role.Beyond theatre, McShane participated in a British Library event in September 2007, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Jack Kerouac‘s On the Road with readings from the novel.He has also appeared as Dr. Vaabit in an episode of the BBC comedy Lab Rats and twice on a BBC radio programme.
Prior to The 39 Steps, McShane was a founding member of the Comedy Store Players, a renowned improvisational comedy troupe.he has also worked extensively in radio,contributing to shows like Radio Active and Week Ending.
