“Shall We Dance” Judge Merete Mørk Lingjærde Credits HusbandS Support During Demanding Season
Merete Mørk Lingjærde, a judge on the popular Norwegian television show “Shall We Dance,” says she relies heavily on her husband’s support during the competition’s run, describing a period of increased self-scrutiny and playful “nagging” regarding her appearance. Lingjærde has been a fixture in the judge’s chair at Fornebu every Saturday evening, evaluating the celebrity contestants.
The scrutiny extends beyond the dance floor, with Lingjærde admitting to becoming “egocentric” during the ”Shall we Dance” season and facing her husband’s candid, though ultimately supportive, feedback on her wardrobe and styling choices. This dynamic highlights the personal impact of high-profile roles and the importance of a strong support system in navigating the pressures of public life.
Lingjærde told Here and now that her husband provides an “extra backbone” during this time. “There will be a lot of nagging about which dresses I should wear, what I don’t look good in, and what I should do with my hair,” she explained. “But then he is always there… That support is absolutely amazing. If there’s something I’m unhappy with, he says it’s good anyway.”
The judge’s comments come as “Shall We Dance” continues to draw a large audience in Norway.
