Port-La Nouvelle to Honor Local Tennis Champion Mélanie Lallemand

Port-La Nouvelle, France the City of‍ Port-La Nouvelle⁤ will present Mélanie Lallemand with its ⁣City medal later this November, ​recognizing her ⁣recent victory as ⁤champion of the National Tennis Cup, the world’s largest amateur tennis ⁢tournament.The ceremony will celebrate‍ Lallemand’s achievement and her dedication to the sport upon her return to ⁤the region.

Lallemand, originally from Sigean and a former ⁢member of the Tennis club Nouvellois, secured the championship in the premier ⁣4/6 category at the tournament held in Cap d’Agde in late October, organized by the French Tennis ⁣Federation. Her win⁤ marks a significant ​accomplishment for the local community and exemplifies the values of ⁢perseverance and passion, according to Port-La Nouvelle Mayor Henri martin. “It’s a source of pride for our town. Mélanie embodies the values ​​of perseverance and passion that make our territory shine,”‌ Martin ⁣stated.

Currently a Physical⁢ Education teacher ​in Seine-et-Marne, Lallemand’s path to victory included a decisive quarter-final win (6/0 – 6/0), a‌ hard-fought super tie-break‍ in ⁢the semi-final, and a controlled final performance (6/4 – 6/4).

Lallemand’s athletic background is rooted in family,with parents Sandrine and Éric,and sisters Laurine and Charlène,all sharing a passion for tennis. Despite now ‍residing in the paris region and teaching at the Marthe-Gautier college in Charny, she maintains a rigorous training schedule.the City medal presentation aims ⁣to ​honor both Lallemand’s sporting ‍success and​ her inspiring journey built on dedication ​and passion.
