Margot Robbie Aims for Gothic romance Landmark with ‘Wuthering heights’ Adaptation

Margot Robbie is setting enterprising goals for her ⁤upcoming portrayal ​of Cathy Earnshaw ‍in a new film adaptation⁢ of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, hoping it will resonate‍ with ⁣audiences likewise ⁢James⁤ Cameron’s⁤ Titanic did for a previous generation. Robbie, fresh ⁤off the success of Barbie, is deeply immersed in the project, collaborating closely with costume designer Jacqueline​ durran ⁣and director Emerald​ Fennell to create a visually arresting and emotionally charged⁢ interpretation of‍ the classic novel.

Durran’s work on the ‌film promises‌ a ⁤”head-spinning fashion fantasia,” with Cathy wearing ‍approximately ​50 different looks inspired by a⁢ wide range of ancient and ⁤cinematic sources, including Gone with the Wind, Sissi, ‍ Singin’ in the Rain, and the work of designers like Alaïa, Chanel, Dolce & ​gabbana, Thierry Mugler, Schiaparelli,⁤ and Vivienne Westwood. Vintage jewelry from Chanel was even incorporated directly into Robbie’s hair and ‍costumes ⁤during production. ⁢

Robbie’s ‌stylist, Andrew Mukamal, visited the Wuthering Heights set to absorb the film’s aesthetic and is preparing a red-carpet ‌wardrobe that will blend ​custom designs with runway pieces, timed to coincide with the january couture shows.‍ Robbie also revealed that her friends are planning a cathy-themed “bachelorette” party to⁢ celebrate ‌the film’s release, though she admits she’s ‍leaving the details to them, ⁣stating, “I have no idea what we’re going to do. ‌I’m normally the planner in our group, but they’re like, ‘We’ve got this.’ I said, ‘Just tell me where to be and ⁣what to ⁢wear.'”
