Arcata and Blue Lake ​Theaters Announce November & December Performance Schedules

ARCATA⁣ & BLUE LAKE,CA – Local theater companies are offering a diverse lineup of ⁣performances this November and December,ranging ⁢from storytelling evenings to a comedic take on a holiday classic.

“Wild Left Turns & Chance ​Encounters,” which sold out a September performance at the Mad ⁤River Grange,will‌ be ⁢staged at‍ the exit ‍Theater (890 G St., second floor, Arcata) on Thursday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The ‌show features stories by Jeff DeMark, Michael Crowley, ⁣Pam Long, Siena Nelson and Marvin Samuels, with‍ musical accompaniment by Jeff Landen and Paul DeMark. Stories‍ will cover ‌topics including a ‍quirky paperboy⁣ job, sibling dynamics, a teenage fantasy, a life-altering talent show, and‍ a radio career. tickets are available at wild-leftturns.eventbrite.com or by cash payment ⁢at the⁤ door; reservations can be made ​by emailing mail@theexit.org.

Before that, “Long Shadr” will have remaining performances at‌ the Exit Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 12, Thursday, Nov. 13 ​and Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m., with Saturday, Nov. 15 and Sunday,‍ Nov. 16 shows ⁣at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at longshadr.com ⁣or from Michael at ‌the Logger bar⁢ on Wednesdays from ‍3 to 6 p.m. due to limited seating, early arrival and bar seating is encouraged.

Looking ahead⁤ to the holiday season, “Yet another Non-profit Christmas Carol,” written by Michael Fields and directed by Roman Sanchez, will run at the Mad River Grange from Dec. 9 ⁢through 14. The play centers on a‌ theater board trapped by flooding, who decide to stage ‍an unconventional version of “A Christmas Carol” starring Michael Fields as the beleaguered artistic​ director.Tickets are available at longshadr.com or from Michael Fields at the Logger Bar on wednesdays​ from 3 to⁤ 6 p.m.
