Arráez Eyes Career-Best Hitting Streak, League Lead in Final Series

SAN⁢ DIEGO – Luis arráez enters a crucial weekend⁢ series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at​ Petco park with a chance to secure both the National League batting ​title and tie his personal best⁢ hitting streak. The Venezuelan infielder has connected for a hit in 13 consecutive games, approaching‍ a‍ career-high mark he’s​ reached three times previously.

Arráez’s current⁣ streak trails his 14-game run ​spanning the end of the 2022 season with the ​Minnesota Twins and ‍the beginning ‌of 2023 with the Miami Marlins, and also another 14-game streak in September 2024 while ​with the Padres. His longest streak came earlier this​ year, from July 18 to August 3, when he recorded hits ‍in‌ 16 straight games. ⁣ Adding hits in all three games‍ against the Diamondbacks would tie that record. The batting title race remains tight, with Nico‌ Hoerner also in⁢ contention.

Arráez boasts a .145 average in 45 ‌at-bats against Arizona this season, but performs exceptionally well at home, maintaining a​ .307 average at Petco Park. ​ He currently leads⁣ the league with 175 hits, surpassing Aaron Judge (175) and closely ⁢pursued by Bo ⁤Bichette⁣ (181) and Bobby Witt ‍jr. (180) in‌ the american League. Jackson Chourio holds the longest hitting streak among Venezuelans in 2025,with 20 consecutive games with a hit in July.
