Lotte Giants Dominate NC Dinos 18-2, Surge into Playoff Contention
changwon, South Korea – September 19, 2025 - The Lotte Giants exploded for 18 runs in a decisive victory over the NC Dinos, finishing the game with a score of 18-2. Key to the offensive onslaught were home runs from Yoon Dong-hee and Jeon Jun-woo, propelling Lotte into a tie for fifth place in the league standings.
The win marks a important shift for the Giants, who are now firmly in the playoff race. The team’s manager, Kim Tae-hyung, utilized strategic pitching changes, including deploying Choi Jun-yong as a first baseman three times, and a strong performance from closer Park Se-woong, who secured his sixth save of the season allowing only one hit and one walk in one inning. Park Se-woong has been a relief pitcher since September 15, 2018, following a game against the Nexen Heroes.
Yoon Dong-hee’s solo home run in the ninth inning, crossing the left wall, punctuated the team’s dominant performance. Starter Kyunan struggled with control, issuing four walks across three innings.
During the game, NC suffered injuries with Kim sustaining an ankle injury during defense and Choi Won-jun experiencing a knee issue, requiring a substitution.
Elsewhere in the league, scheduled games between the Hanwha Eagles and KT Wiz in Suwon, and the Doosan Bears and SSG Landers in incheon, were canceled due to rain. The Suwon game will be rescheduled, while the Doosan-SSG matchup is set for Monday, September 22nd.
