Long Island to ​See Sunshine return After ‌Coastal Flooding, But Breezy Conditions Persist

Long Islanders ‍are drying out after recent coastal flooding,‍ but a shift in the weather pattern promises a return to⁤ sunshine beginning Wednesday. While lingering water ⁣may remain in previously flooded ⁣areas, the ‍immediate threat has ‌passed, and ⁢brighter conditions are⁣ on⁤ the horizon.

The transition marks a welcome change after unsettled weather, offering a respite for residents and businesses impacted by the flooding. Though a breeze will continue through ⁢the ⁢week, temperatures will gradually moderate, wiht a mostly ‍sunny weekend forecast. Here’s a detailed look at the ​week‍ ahead:

Tonight, expect mostly ​cloudy skies with occasional showers or drizzle. Conditions will be⁣ breezy and cool, with overnight lows around​ the mid-50s.

Wednesday will‌ start cloudy, ‍but sunshine will develop throughout the afternoon. Highs​ will reach around 66 ​degrees, with ​a continued⁣ breeze. Overnight lows will drop to around ⁤42 degrees.

Thursday and⁣ Friday will be sunny but cooler, with highs around 59 ‍and 62 degrees respectively.⁣ A sweatshirt‍ or jacket may be ​needed as the breeze persists, remaining around 10 to 20 mph.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday will‍ bring a mix of sun and clouds, with highs around 67 degrees and lows near 55. Sunday will see ​increasing cloud cover, ‍and a chance of showers arriving overnight, with highs around 72 degrees ‍and lows near 54.
