Title: Lindel Fields Named Oklahoma State Superintendent After Walters Resignation

Oklahoma City, OK – Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Lindel ⁢Fields ‌as the new State ​Superintendent of Public instruction, effective ⁤instantly, following the resignation of Ryan Walters. ‌The announcement came Thursday during ⁤a press conference at the state Capitol.

Fields, a veteran Oklahoma ‌educator with‌ over three decades of experience,⁣ will serve the ‌remainder of Walters’ term.⁢ His appointment⁣ comes ⁢after Walters announced his departure last week to become⁤ CEO of ⁤the Teacher Freedom alliance,⁣ a​ branch of​ the Freedom Foundation,⁣ and officially began his new role on October 1st.

Fields most recently served as the CEO of Your Culture Coach, a ⁢company focused on leadership training ⁣and organizational‍ culture transformation, founded‌ in May​ 2021.Prior to that,⁤ he held the ‍position of‍ CEO and Superintendent at Tri-County Tech, a public-sector​ educational institution, from July 2009 to ⁣May ⁢2021.

A graduate of ⁢Oklahoma State University with a B.S. ⁤in Trade⁣ and ⁣Industrial Teacher ‍Education (1996)⁣ and Southern Nazarene University⁣ with an M.A.in Education⁣ Leadership (1999),Fields is currently based in Tulsa. ‍His experience and⁣ background are expected to provide stability and continuity as Oklahoma navigates ongoing discussions⁤ surrounding ⁢public education.
