Former Rugby Star joe Marler Poised to Win ‘Celebrity Traitors‘ as BBC Presenting Role Rumors Swirl
Joe marler, recently retired from professional rugby, is a frontrunner to win the final of the BBC One show the Traitors, airing Thursday, November 6th, at 21:00 GMT. Marler has proven a skilled “traitor hunter” throughout the series, successfully identifying fellow traitors Ross,Carr, and Burns.
Despite being identified as a threat by the remaining Traitors, Marler survived the latest rounds thanks to possessing a shield. The final episode will determine if he can secure the prize fund.
Marler’s popularity on the show, which attracts approximately 8 million viewers per episode, has sparked speculation about a potential presenting role with the BBC. The Mirror reports the 35-year-old is being considered for a primetime position.
A TV insider told The Mirror: “The BBC is constantly looking for new talent and the second he stopped playing rugby, there were eyes on him. Bosses knew that getting him on Traitors would be a very good shop window for him and they could test whether or not the viewers would like him. As soon as they saw it, they knew he would be someone the British public would adore and they seem to be right.”
Viewers in the UK can watch the final on BBC One or stream it live and on-demand via BBC iPlayer. Those outside the UK may require a VPN to access the BBC iPlayer.
