Jeep Unveils All-Electric Recon, Aiming for 2026 Market Entry
Stellantis debuted the all-electric Jeep Recon today, signaling the brand’s aggressive push into the burgeoning electric SUV market. The Recon, designed with serious off-roading capability in mind, boasts 650 horsepower adn 620 pound-feet of torque delivered via a 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack.
The arrival of the Recon represents a pivotal moment for Jeep, challenging the brand to balance its heritage of rugged, gasoline-powered vehicles with the demands of an increasingly environmentally conscious consumer base. The vehicle is slated for release in 2026, with pricing yet to be finalized, but will compete directly with the existing 2026 Wrangler, which starts at approximately $49,895.
The recon’s powertrain allows for a swift zero-to-60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds.Jeep has equipped the interior with a 14.5-inch horizontal touchscreen – the largest ever featured in a Jeep vehicle - alongside classic design elements like Wrangler-inspired LED taillamps, a swing gate, and removable doors.
