Nedvěd-Led Consortium Acquires Majority Stake in Hradec Králové Football Club
A new era has begun for FK hradec Králové as a consortium led by Czech football legend Pavel Nedvěd has secured a majority ownership stake in the Czech First League club. The investment aims to propel Hradec Králové toward consistent top-six finishes and European competition, marking a notable shift for the historically regional team.
The move comes as the city of Hradec Králové seeks a strategic partner to accelerate the club’s advancement, relinquishing direct financial support while retaining ownership of key infrastructure like the Malšovická Arena – a recently completed stadium costing nearly 800 million Czech crowns opened in August 2023. The investors intend to build a modern academy focused on youth development and forge a partnership with a club from one of Europe’s top five leagues.
According to a statement released by the town hall, the new ownership group plans to invest in the club’s academy and training facilities, with a focus on developing young players. They also envision expanding event offerings at the Hradec Arena and cultivating partnerships with strong regional businesses. Hradec Králové finished seventh in the 2024/25 season and the new owners have set a goal of achieving a sixth-place finish and qualifying for european cups.
The sale excludes the Malšovická Arena and other sports venues, which will remain under city ownership. The club will continue to operate the stadium on a lease basis. Investors signaled their commitment to the project in November, outlining their vision for the club’s future.
