Houston Residents Shoudl Prepare for daily Afternoon ⁢Thunderstorms Throughout Hurricane season

Houstonians should be prepared ⁣for the⁤ possibility of daily afternoon thunderstorms as hurricane season ‍continues. While ⁢a notable cold front remains over ten days away, consistently high temperatures and dewpoints are creating conditions ripe for localized, heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding.

The National Weather Service reports highs in the mid to 90s and lows in‌ the mid-70s are expected to persist. This summer-like pattern, combined with the approaching Rosh Hashanah and autumnal equinox, means above-average temperatures will likely continue through September. Residents are urged to review hurricane preparedness⁤ plans and stay informed about changing weather conditions. A comprehensive 2025 Hurricane and Flood survival Guide is available from KPRC 2.

KPRC 2 encourages residents to share photos and⁣ videos of any interesting weather events in their neighborhoods ⁣via Click2Pins.
