Henan Province Doubles Down on Football Revitalization with New Progress Plan
Zhengzhou, Henan Province – Henan Province officials convened a meeting to outline a comprehensive plan for elevating football development, aligning with directives from General Secretary Xi Jinping and the National Football Work Conference.The initiative prioritizes youth training,systemic improvements,and broader societal engagement to foster a “path for football revitalization and development with Henan characteristics.”
The meeting underscored the importance of unifying efforts to achieve high-quality development in football, basketball, and volleyball.A key focus will be the rapid construction of youth training centers at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, aiming to establish a robust talent pipeline encompassing systematic training, competition, and governance.
Officials emphasized the need to strengthen working mechanisms, clarify responsibilities, and secure adequate resources to cultivate a widespread passion for and participation in the three sports. The plan also calls for leveraging football, basketball, and volleyball to drive growth in the sports industry and deepen integration with culture, business, and tourism, ultimately aiming for a “new situation of sports development” within the province.
