Reality television personalities Helene Olafsen and Jørgen Nilsen have listed their Oslo-area home for sale, a move coming after months of escalating conflict with their neighbors over property line issues and alleged unauthorized construction. The property, a semi-detached house, has been at the center of a dispute involving claims of illegal modifications to the land, including the conversion of an orchard into a parking area and concerns over improper foundation work.The sale marks a potential turning point in the ongoing disagreement, which prompted the neighbors to retain legal counsel last year and file a formal complaint with the City of Oslo. While olafsen and Nilsen maintain they do not recognise the allegations made against them, the decision to sell suggests a desire to distance themselves from the protracted battle. The listing price and prospective buyers remain undisclosed as of today.
In November of last year, neighbors submitted a complaint to the City of Oslo alleging Olafsen and nilsen had undertaken a number of unauthorized changes to the beach property. These included transforming ”an old orchard into a huge parking lot” and concerns that filler foundation work was improperly executed,leading to slippage onto the neighboring property.
The neighbors’ attorney, jan Grønnerud, previously told The stock Exchange that they believed the measures were illegal and had notified the building agency, awaiting a response to determine further action.
Olafsen and Nilsen responded to the allegations, stating, “We do not recognize the allegations, something any treatment of the case will show. We also do not want to resolve conflicts with our closest neighbors in the media.”
