Gold Rush: Buzz Legault Joins Kevin Beets‘ Crew, debuts New Look After Leaving Rick Ness
Longtime Gold Rush personality Buzz Legault has made a surprising career move, joining Kevin Beets’ mining operation at Scribner Creek. The shift marks a meaningful change for Legault, who previously worked for Rick Ness for years, and comes with a noticeable physical transformation.
Legault’s return to the Finding Channel series was revealed as Scribner Creek faced challenges following crew losses and dwindling resources. After losing crew members Brennan and Kayden Foot to Parker Schnabel’s operation, and needing to expand mining at the Pyramid Cut, Kevin and Faith Beets were in need of experienced help. Legault explained his departure from Ness’s crew stemmed from a desire for stability, particularly with a baby on the way, stating it was “unstable” and he “needed stability.” He shared he spent time away in Mexico getting dental work completed.
Kevin Beets instantly offered Legault the position of foreman, while Faith noted their need for a versatile team member.Legault playfully accepted, declaring, “I can be your buzz of all trades.” His arrival proved timely as Beets embarked on a critical wash plant relocation – a move from the Links Cut down and up a steep 30-degree incline – essential to reaching their 2,000-ounce gold goal.
The crew successfully weighed the last of their stockpile pay before the relocation, yielding 56.59 ounces worth $198,000. Beets expressed confidence in the new working dynamic with legault, noting he “fit in well.”
Gold Rush airs Fridays at 8/7c on Discovery Channel.
