Costa Rican Presenter Ginnés Rodríguez Reveals Skin Condition Treatment, Advocates for Self-Acceptance
San José, Costa rica – Television personality Ginnés Rodríguez has publicly discussed her experience with a skin condition and the innovative Cosmelán treatment she underwent to address it, sharing her story to inspire others facing similar challenges and promote a message of inner beauty.
Rodríguez, a well-known communicator in Costa Rica, revealed she sought treatment after being diagnosed with a condition causing meaningful skin discoloration. The presenter emphasized the importance of self-worth beyond physical appearance, stating, “I am so convinced that there is no physical change that adds or subtracts from the value that I already have…that I can talk about this without a filter.” Her openness aims to empower individuals struggling with skin issues and redefine beauty standards.
The Cosmelán treatment, Rodríguez explained, involved a process of intense skin peeling and sensitivity. “the skin is red, hot, it burns and peels like a sunburn. I hid from the sun and makeup for 7 days and followed every step to the letter,” she recounted. While the treatment substantially reduced the intensity of her skin stains, she noted that sun exposure can cause them to reappear, even with diligent sunscreen use.
Six months after beginning the treatment, Rodríguez reports it continues to manage the condition, though ongoing maintenance is required. More importantly, she says, addressing the skin issue has brought her a newfound sense of freedom. “I removed the stains and gained more freedom, comfort and the desire to walk without makeup,” she shared. Rodríguez’s story underscores the emotional impact of skin conditions and the potential for treatments to restore confidence, while together advocating for self-acceptance and recognizing inherent value autonomous of physical appearance.
