Georgia Gas Prices Fall Following Thanksgiving Travel

atlanta, GA – Georgia motorists are⁣ seeing relief at the pump as gas prices across the ⁤state have decreased in ‌the days following the Thanksgiving⁤ holiday weekend.‍ The average price ⁢for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Georgia currently sits at $3.08, down from a‍ peak⁤ of $3.23 earlier in November, according to⁢ AAA.

The decline comes as travel volume returns to normal following one of the busiest Thanksgiving periods in recent years. While prices remain higher than this time last year ($2.87), the downward trend offers a welcome respite⁢ for drivers preparing for the remainder of the holiday season ⁤and into the new year. AAA reports that ‌daily fuel price averages are updated using data from up to 130,000 stations, gathered through credit card swipes and direct feeds in⁢ partnership wiht the Oil ‌Price Information Service (OPIS) and Wright Express.

“Drivers, if you see a disabled vehicle on the roadside while traveling, be courteous and Move Over,” urged AAA spokesperson Waiters. ⁢”Remember, the person who broke down could be you, a friend, ⁣a family ⁢member, a coworker, or a neighbor. Move Over for the safety of others and because it is the right thing to‍ do!”

AAA also reminds drivers that fuel economy is impacted by ‍driving habits. Maintaining speeds at or below 50 mph and ⁢avoiding aggressive acceleration can considerably improve gas mileage.
