A former bookkeeper ‍in Florence County is facing charges after authorities say she misused a church credit card for ⁢over two years, racking up more than $112,000 ⁣in personal expenses. Melissa‍ Edwards, of⁢ Florence, is⁤ currently held at the Florence County Detention Center, charged with breach of ​trust with fraudulent intent.

The ‌Florence County‍ Sheriff‘s Office examination revealed that between March⁢ 20, 2023, and July 30,⁢ 2025, ‌Edwards allegedly made approximately $112,312.07 in unauthorized purchases‍ using the‍ church’s credit card. These⁣ charges ⁣included personal items, goods,⁤ and services, ‌according to deputies.
