Arizona Students Can Score Free Valley Suns Tickets for Completing FAFSA
PHOENIX – Arizona high school seniors in the Class of 2026 can now earn four free tickets to a Valley Suns home game simply by completing the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), thanks to a new partnership between the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and the NBA G League affiliate of the Phoenix suns. The initiative aims to increase FAFSA completion rates across the state, unlocking access to crucial financial aid for college.
The program is part of a broader statewide effort to ensure Arizona students don’t leave money on the table. each year, over $100 million in Pell grants goes unclaimed due to incomplete FAFSA applications.Students who complete the FAFSA are 84% more likely to enroll in postsecondary education immediately after high school, with a 127% increase for low-income students.
“Filling out the FAFSA isn’t just about financial aid – itS about opening doors to college and chance,” said ABOR Chair Doug Goodyear. “We’re excited to partner with the Valley Suns to help students stay in the game and advance toward their goals.”
Arizona has demonstrated meaningful progress in FAFSA completion, ranking among the top 10 states nationally for year-over-year improvement over the past five cycles. The state met its 40% completion goal in the 2025-26 cycle, ranking sixth nationally in improvement. Governor Katie Hobbs has set an enterprising new statewide goal of 48% completion for the Class of 2026.
This partnership with the Valley Suns follows successful similar incentives with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cactus League, offering free tickets to students who complete the FAFSA.
