Uruguayan Athletes to Compete at National Evita games
Buenos Aires, Argentina – A delegation of Uruguayan athletes will participate in the 2023 Evita Games, a national sporting event for youth held in Argentina from September 29th to October 4th. The Games, named in honor of Eva Perón, draw thousands of competitors from across the country, providing a platform for emerging athletic talent.
this year’s Uruguayan contingent includes athletes across a diverse range of disciplines, from track and field to adapted sports. The participation underscores growing regional athletic exchange and offers Uruguayan youth a valuable chance to compete at a national level. The Evita games serve as a key developmental pathway for many young athletes, often leading to further opportunities in competitive sports.
Representing Uruguay in athletics are Irene boujon (long and triple jump),Nicolás Bonnet (long jump),Julián Cousillas (long and triple jump),Milagros Montes de Oca (javelin),Bruna Pérez Heglin (80m hurdles and 200m),and Antonia Ruis Díaz (pole vault and triple jump),coached by Lucrecia Minetto.
The male hockey team will also be competing, comprised of Federico Bonnin, Santiago Bonnin, Máximo Carletti, Santino Serapio, Ignacio Agüero, Ignacio Grattarola Mardon, jeremiah escobar, Santiago Chaps, Juan Martín Pulido, and Horacio Gay, under the direction of coach Francisco Bonnin.
Further representation comes from Mateo Heidenreich and Emma Aguirre (Judo); Valentina Bonnin (tennis); Jonathan Bourlot, Nehuel Romero, and Malena Alvarez (Wrestling); Liz Espinoza, Ana Paz bernhardt, Manuel santiago Huck (Cuitar, coached by Jorge Alberto Elola); Juan Ignacio Perdono (Rugby); and agustín Pratti (skate coach).
In adapted sports, Dorys olivera and Agustín Pesenti will compete in Table Tennis, bautista Gatti in Basketball (wheelchair), Malena Tejeda and Tania Ferreyra Ocampo in Athletics, Maika Favre in Sitting Volleyball, and ignacio Notari and eric Rivas in Swimming. franco Martínez, Andrea Cabandié, and Sebastián Pesenti will serve as trainers for the adapted sports athletes.
