Djokovic Claims 101st Career Title in Athens, Joins Exclusive Company
Athens, Greece – november 8, 2025 - Novak Djokovic secured his 101st ATP singles title today, defeating Lorenzo Musetti 7/5 in a hard-fought final at the inaugural ATP 250 event in Athens. With the victory, Djokovic joins Roger Federer and Jimmy Connors as the only men in professional tennis history to reach the century mark in career titles.
The third set proved decisive, featuring five service breaks. Musetti initially took a 2/1 lead with a break, but Djokovic promptly responded to level the score at 4/3. After another exchange of breaks, Djokovic secured a crucial break in the 11th game and then closed out the match on his serve, winning 7/5 after 2 hours and 18 minutes of play. Djokovic saved 7 of the 10 break points he faced, while converting 3 of his 8 break opportunities.

The win earns Djokovic 250 ATP ranking points, propelling him back into the top four in the world rankings. It marked his first tournament appearance as the Shanghai Masters 1000 in october.
Statistically, Djokovic dominated on first serve, winning 78% of those points. He also outperformed Musetti at the net, winning 32 net points to the Italian’s 18. Musetti committed 38 unforced errors, ten more than Djokovic.
The ATP 250 in Athens offered a total prize pool of €650,000, with Djokovic receiving €98,500 for the title.
Djokovic reached the quarterfinals directly due to his seeding, defeating Tallon Griekspoor 6/4, 6/4. He then overcame Jakub Mensik in the semi-final with a 6/3, 6/4 victory. Musetti had previously eliminated Alex de Minaur in his semi-final match. The 22-year-old Italian was seeking his eighth career title but struggled to maintain consistency in key moments.
Djokovic’s career now includes a record 24 Grand Slam titles, 40 Masters 1000 titles, and 7 ATP Finals championships. Federer concluded his career with 103 titles in 2022, and Connors amassed 109 titles by 1996. No other currently active player has surpassed the 100-title milestone.
