Liberty Belle Riverboat Still Intact at Walt Disney World, Dispelling Demolition Rumors
Recent aerial photographs reveal the Liberty Belle riverboat remains fully intact at a service marina north of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, quelling speculation that the iconic vessel had already been dismantled. The photos, taken October 12, 2025, show the riverboat docked at the marina since its last run through the Rivers of America on July 6.
The continued existence of the Liberty belle offers a glimmer of hope to fans who feared the attraction was permanently gone. While the ride has closed to make way for a Cars-themed land, Piston Peak, the ship’s preservation suggests Disney may have future plans for the historic vessel. The possibility of demolition had been a concern, but its current state indicates that dismantling the boat may be more complex then initially anticipated, or that a repurposing plan is under consideration.
Disney World is a vast property, and the Liberty Belle’s future location remains uncertain. However, its enduring presence is a testament to its significance as a piece of Disney World’s history, and many hope it will find a new role within the park.
