Delaware Football Heads too Winston-Salem for ‌Saturday showdown‌ wiht Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Delaware football⁣ team will travel ​to Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium on Saturday to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Kickoff is scheduled for a time to be determined. This marks a key contest for ‍the Blue Hens as they ‌conclude their regular season schedule ⁤against⁤ a 7-3 ACC opponent.

Delaware (6-4) is coming ‌off a strong offensive performance, led by running back Marcus⁢ Yarns, who has tallied 786 rushing yards ⁤and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Sean Wilson paces the Hens with 50 receptions ‌for 714 yards and four receiving touchdowns,‍ averaging 71.4 receiving yards per game​ – ranking first in the Coastal Athletic ⁢Association (CUSA) and⁣ 42nd nationally.​ Defensively, linebacker Gavin Milk leads the team with 85 tackles, 36th nationally and fourth in CUSA, averaging 8.5 tackles per game. ​The Blue & gold ‌currently lead CUSA in passing offense (308.2 yards​ per game), first‌ downs per game (23.9), average kick return yards ⁤(24.4), ⁣and average punt return yards‌ (15.7).

Wake Forest, under first-year head coach Jake Dickert‍ (7-3), is ⁣fresh off a 28-12 victory over North Carolina. ⁤The Demon Deacons’ offense is spearheaded by quarterback ‍Robby Ashford, who has‌ thrown for 1,535 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Demond Claiborne leads the ground attack⁢ with 812 rushing yards and‍ nine ‌touchdowns, while Chris‌ Barnes‌ is the‍ team’s leading receiver with 504 yards and three ⁤touchdowns. Defensively, safety Nick Andersen anchors the team⁢ with 81 ⁣tackles.
