Bangkok, Thailand – Dayanara Torres, the 1993 Miss Universe, is returning to the pageant stage as a commentary host for the 74th Miss Universe competition, set to take place in Thailand. The announcement, made by Torres on November 11th, marks a full-circle moment for the Puerto Rican model, whose life was “changed” by the platform three decades ago.
Torres will join Miss Universe 2022, R’Bonney Gabriel, in providing commentary and sharing anecdotes throughout the evening. She previously served as a judge for the competition on multiple occasions.
The model celebrated the inclusion of the representative from Puerto Rico among the 30 semifinalists. reflecting on her own experience, Torres jokingly admitted she barely remembered the swimsuit parade, noting 32 years have passed as her win.
Social media has erupted wiht praise for Torres, with many fans declaring she would win if she were to compete again.
