Czech Republic Gains Recognition as Three Restaurants Place in La Liste’s world’s Best Ranking
MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ, CZECH REPUBLIC – November 21, 2023 - Three Czech restaurants have been recognized among the world’s elite dining establishments in the latest La Liste ranking, a globally respected restaurant guide. The declaration precedes the first-ever nationwide Michelin Guide for the Czech Republic, the results of which will be revealed on December 11 in Mariánské Lázně.
La Liste’s methodology incorporates data from hundreds of guides and publications, including well-known gastronomic authorities. Jan Vašák, a representative for the Czech Republic, expressed anticipation regarding the impact of the forthcoming Michelin Guide.”Since La Liste also takes well-known gastronomic guides into account in it’s algorithm, I myself am curious to see how the first nationwide Michelin guide will fare with the ranking next year.I hope that thanks to this, other Czech businesses will also appear in the ranking,” Vašák stated.
This year, ten restaurants worldwide share the top spot with a score of 99.5 out of 100. New York’s Le Bernardin continues its reign as record holder, maintaining first place for the ninth consecutive year.Other restaurants achieving the highest rating include SingleThread in California, Guy Savoy in Paris, Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl in Basel, Da Vittorio in Brusaporta, Schwarzwaldstuben in Berlin, Martín Berasategui in Lasarte-Oria, Lung King Hing in Hong Kong, Matsukawa in Tokyo, and Robuchon au Dôme in Macau. These establishments were honored with golden plate trophies at a gala held annually at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Launched in 2015 and initiated by the French Tourism Council, La Liste was founded by Philippe Faure, a former diplomat and ex-CEO of the Gault&Millau gastronomic guide.
Seznam Zprávy has been publishing interviews with Czech chefs potentially poised to receive Michelin recognition throughout the summer.
