Referee Decisions Under Scrutiny in Chance league’s 12th Round
PRAGUE, Czech Republic – October 20, 2025 – The Czech Football Association’s (FAČR) Referee Committee (KR FAČR) today released its assessment of key match incidents from the 12th round of the Chance League and 13th round of the Chance National League, confirming the accuracy of several on-field decisions, including those made with VAR assistance. The reviews, conducted according to the FAČR’s Interaction Manual, aim to provide clarity and maintain consistency in officiating.
The KR FAČR’s evaluations impact player suspensions, potential disciplinary action, and contribute to ongoing training and advancement for referees across the Czech professional leagues. By publicly reviewing contentious calls, the FAČR seeks to foster trust in the integrity of the game and ensure fair play for all teams and competitors. The committee addressed four specific incidents detailed below.
FK Pardubice vs. FK Mladá Boleslav
In the 16th minute, the referee correctly issued a red card to FK Mladá Boleslav player No. 32 for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The player committed a foul by stepping on an opponent’s leg with his left foot, followed by a kick with his right foot.
FK Jablonec vs. FK Dukla Prague
A VAR intervention lead to a corrected decision in the 73rd minute.Initially shown a red card, FK Jablonec player No. 7 was instead issued a yellow card for a challenge where he made contact with an opponent’s head after playing the ball. VAR correctly identified the severity of the contact as warranting only a caution.
bohemians Prague 1905 vs.FC Viktoria Plzeň
VAR again played a crucial role in the 68th minute, prompting the referee to send off Bohemians Prague 1905 player No. 11. The player struck an opponent from behind in the Achilles tendon with an outstretched leg,with no attempt to play the ball.
In the 75th minute of the same match, FC Viktoria Plzeň player No. 21 received a yellow card for a high challenge. While attempting to play the ball,the player’s sole made contact with the opponent’s leg,but the leg was withdrawn minimizing the impact. The referee’s decision to issue a yellow card was deemed correct.
The KR FAČR also reviewed additional incidents from both the Chance League and Chance National League rounds, though details of those assessments were not publicly released.
