California Public Health Leaders Detail Shifting Landscape in New On-Demand Webinar
SACRAMENTO, CA – October 29, 2025 – A new on-demand webinar released today by the California medical Association (CMA) offers physicians and healthcare professionals critical insights into the evolving state of public health in California and nationwide. The Evolving State of Public Health: Vaccines,Advisory Groups and Other Emerging Issues features a timely discussion on recent changes impacting public health leadership and vaccine recommendations.
The one-hour webinar, originally broadcast on October 28, 2025, includes perspectives from Erica Pan, M.D., MPH, director and state public health officer at the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and Rita Nguyen, M.D., assistant health officer and population health director at CDPH. The conversation centers on how shifts within federal agencies and advisory boards are influencing public health priorities, the crucial role of physician leadership in immunization policy, and California’s ongoing response to emerging infectious disease trends.
