BROCKPORT, N.Y. – A Brockport man with a prior felony conviction is facing federal charges after authorities discovered a cache of firearms and ammunition at his home and business.
Paul Kozlyuk, 39, was charged with being a felon in posession of firearms and ammunition following a search warrant execution on September 10th. This case highlights teh ongoing efforts to enforce laws prohibiting individuals convicted of felonies from possessing weapons.
Kozlyuk was previously sentenced in November 2018 to 27 months in prison for defrauding multiple small businesses, a conviction that legally barred him from owning firearms.in February 2024, authorities initiated a new inquiry into Kozlyuk and his company, Ameritrans Group Inc., focusing on potential violations of federal tax laws, the interstate transportation of stolen goods, and fraud related to the department of Transportation.
During the September 10th search of Kozlyuk’s residence and business, investigators reportedly recovered seven rifles, one pistol, and ammunition.
Kozlyuk faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
