It is with deep sadness that Live 95 acknowledges the passing of beloved broadcaster Brian Fitzgerald, who died peacefully on September 5th, 2025, at University Hospital Limerick, following a period of care in Ward 1D. He was 78.
For decades, Brian was a familiar and trusted voice to listeners across Limerick and beyond, hosting the popular morning show on Live 95.His warm personality, insightful interviews, and dedication to local news and community events made him a cornerstone of the station and a cherished figure in the region. His death marks a meaningful loss for the Irish broadcasting community and the many people whose lives he touched.
Brian is survived by his wife Ailish, daughter emma, son-in-law harry, granddaughter Mackenzie, sister-in-law Mary, brother-in-law Dan, nieces and nephews Orna and Keelin, grandnieces and grandnephews, neighbours, relatives, friends, and his special little girl, baby Aoife.

Remembered as a true gentleman, Brian’s commitment to Live 95 and his listeners was unwavering. He was known for his genuine interest in people’s stories and his ability to connect with audiences of all ages.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, at 11:00 AM at Shannon Crematorium (V14 PV30).
