Oberndorf Honors Lifesavers: 19 Blood Donors Recognized for Combined 550 Donations
Oberndorf – A ceremony held recently celebrated the selfless dedication of 19 local blood donors who have collectively given blood 550 times, ensuring a vital lifeline for those in need.The event, organized to express gratitude and inspire continued participation, highlighted the critical role of volunteer blood donation in sustaining healthcare within the community and beyond.
The act of donating blood represents a profound commitment to helping others, and this ceremony served both as a thank you to those who consistently give and a call to action for others to join their ranks. “Advertise blood donation in your surroundings too. They are the best multipliers for the good cause,” urged Oberndorfer Schultes Matthias Winter, emphasizing the power of personal advocacy.
Among those recognized for their extraordinary commitment were Elisabeth Kasper from Aistaig, Guido Söll from Hochmössingen, and Heinz Berger from Hochmössingen, each achieving the milestone of 75 blood donations. Ten first-time honorees were also celebrated for reaching 10 donations: Berit berner, Tobias Flaig, Anna-Theresa Fuchs, Corinna Gielke, karina Kuhlmann, Sven Lemperle, Robin Müller, Irene Schmidt, Marcel Staiger, and Annerose Volk. Additional honors went to Uli Härle, Christoph Hezel, and Markus Hiller (25 donations), and Bettina Bretzel, Gerd King, and Bernd Leibelt (50 donations).
Donors hailed from across Oberndorf and surrounding areas, including Lindenhof, the city center, Hochmössingen, Aistaig, Beffendorf, and Bochingen, with a significant concentration of first-level honorees residing in Lindenhof.
The German Red Cross (DRK) was also acknowledged for its vital role in facilitating blood drives and relying on volunteer support. The DRK is currently planning its next donation date for early January 2026 and awaiting confirmation from the Baden-Württemberg – Hesse blood donation service.
